prinsip kerja boiler adalah memanaskan air hingga mencapai titik didihnya sehingga air berubah menjadi uap (steam). Uap panas itulah yang digunakan untuk berbagai keperluan seperti untuk pemanasan crude oil agar tidak membeku, untuk proses produksi minyak kelapa sawit, dan lain-lain.
